I made these the other day and absolutely loved them. I will have these more often now instead of buying protein bars. They make a perfect snack, especially if you are craving sweets and or chocolate in the afternoon. Plus when you see the ingredients compared to a protein bar you’ll know that these are healthier too. I made 9 of them, each with 13 grams of protein and just about 210 calories.
1/2- cup Peanut Butter
3- cups of Rolled Oats (oatmeal)
2- table spoons of baking CoCoa
1-1/2- scoops of Chocolate Whey Protein Powder
2- table spoons of Stevia or Truvia sweetener
1- table spoon of real sugar
1- teaspoon of honey
(optional) 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips for an extra yummy taste that only adds about 10 calories
Put the milk and peanut butter together in a bowl then microwave it for 1 minute. To break down the peanut butter and make it more mixable.
Mix all other ingredients in a large bowl then add milk and peanut butter and mix everything together.
Make 9 big cookies about the same size and put them on Parchment paper or I think tin foil works better so you can shape them better or into bars by smashing the sides in and wrapping the long foil layer over the top, then they will have their own wrapping. Then place into the freezer for 30 minutes and after you can store them in the refrigerator until they are all eaten.
If you make 9 of them, then each one will be about 210 calories with about 13 grams of protein each. Sometimes I make 8 bigger ones and they are about 240 calories each. Just like most protein bars that I’ve seen in stores. The little sugar and honey that I added will eliminate the sugar substitute after taste. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
